Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

The archer watched as Eleanor carefully made her way into the containment cell holding the wisps. With the convict gone he felt comfortable enough to holster his sidearm. He'd had an arrow nocked on the bow in his left hand since they entered this disturbingly sterile environment so that just in case anything did go to hell in a hand basket, he'd still be ready to respond in kind. However, it appeared as if there would be no need for that any longer. Following the introduction of whatever strange fuel the wisps thrived on, they were once again beginning to buzz about with vigor. Power was flowing once again. Now it was just a matter of hitting the final switches to end this giant headache.

Nodding to Claire as she stood beside him, Cole lowered his bow to hang at his side and walked towards the room she had swept moments ago in a brisk pace. Following the instructions that Eleanor had sent the medic earlier, Brandon headed for the breaker box on the nearby wall. Only one had been reset so far considering the relative pointlessness of the act prior to the revival of the wisps. With power flowing freely now, Cole wasted no time in flipping the remaining breakers to their proper position. God willing, this would be the last trial they had to go through tonight. He was long overdue for a nap.

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

A breath she hadn't known she was holding escaped her in a soft rush, her entire body relaxed with relief as the tiny troublemakers floated happily in their containment. Slumping against the glass and metal unit, the spy slides down into a heap on the floor. Her gloved hands reach up to remove the helmet and mask, pulling it apart and off to show a sweating, tired face.

Cole had flipped what needed to be switched, and she could feel the air suddenly begin moving again. Christ, that was close. Only a few more minutes and she would have had to watch her partner and her new friend suffocate while having no power to stop it. Renewed anger flamed in her gut, a pissed off feeling at whomever had left them in this situation to begin with.

Sighing, she drops her head back against the cool metal behind her, an audible thunk that was drowned out by the air units and generators coming online all around her. They had done it, but there was still a heavy price to pay, and she was in no hurry to return to the slaughter that was only two floors above them.

Reaching up to turn off her comms for a moment, Eleanor flicks her watch on and huffs before speaking into it.

"Reese, you've got a collarless convict heading your way. Thin, hobbled, and probably in possession of a firearm. Stop him, if it's not too much trouble for you.

She drops her hand back and turns on her regular comms. A smile, tired but satisfied, appears on her lips. Her eyes fall on Claire, and the smile widens.

"Not bad for a medic." Her eyes trail back over to the door Cole disappeared into. He was alive, thank God, and it was in that moment she realized how much she really wanted them to be in his king bed. Priorities, priorities, Eleanor.

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

Claire stood for a moment as she heard the audible hum of the primary generators coming back online. The fact that they weren't going to run out of air and die in this godforsaken basement was sinking in. Her eyes turned towards the containment unit where a collection happy little glowing balls of light were floating about in their enclosure. Claire dropped to her knees finally allowing her body to relax her shoulders visibly sagging as the tension left her.

"We're alive..." Claire whispered a small smile forming on her lips. Against all damn odds against every fucked up obstacle they'd faced up until now they were still alive. "We're alive!" Claire said again the words spread a feeling of warmth and excitement through the medic's entire body. She felt like she could do pretty much anything. She felt as if she could run a marathon or punch a mountain lion in the damn face. Her eyes fell upon Eleanor who was sitting against the containment unit.

Claire barely registered the compliment that Eleanor had paid her instead it just seemed like in that very moment the most interesting and attractive and amazing person in the entire goddamn world was sitting there right in front of her. And she'd be damned before she let this opportunity go to waste as Eleanor's eyes turned towards the generator room Claire crawled the short distance between the two women. Coming to a stop nearly face to face with the blonde haired woman before her without any hesitation at all she reached up one hand falling on the back of the blonde's neck while the other intertwined in her hair.

And she kissed her leaning forward she pressed her lips onto the blondes shutting her eyes tightly. She could feel the rush of life just washing throughout her entire being and it felt amazing. The feeling of her lips against another living person's was even more amazing.

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

The convict was half finished changing into the clothes of a felled guard when the lights sprang on once more. With the power restored and collars reactivated, many of the prisoners were quickly subdued. The dent in their numbers and the fact they were already outgunned from the start put an end to the riot which, all in all, lasted approximately half an hour at the most. It seemed as though the base was quickly returning to normal.

That was, until a secret panel in the middle of the staircase leading towards the generator opened, a mechanical giant stepping out ominously. "There are...no strings...on m-" Its Disney quote was interrupted by its knees giving out unceremoniously. Rusted from disuse and not maintained, the behemoth quickly fell apart and began to spread its body down the stairs in a very anticlimactic fashion.

No, the real star of the show, as in most CW productions, was the newly formed love triangle between these three brave agents. And no one will dare mention a multi-partner relationship, lest it rob the viewers of 9 seasons of queer baiting and anticipation. There's just no other way to do it.

(OOC) The riot has ended. All active topics containing to it are no longer under the event banner.

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

With the switches all properly reset, Brandon took a moment to savor a deep breath of fresh air and the slight chill of the air conditioning system once again coming online. Despite the headache it had been, the archer couldn't deny that he'd managed to enjoy himself in the chaos of the riot. Dangerous felons everywhere, utter chaos wherever you looked and the constant risk of a violent death around every corner. Had they not been on such a short time limit with the oxygen supply, he probably would still be stalking the hallways up above hunting down the roving packs of convicts. Come to think of it, the switch to once again turn off the collars was well within his reach. How bad would it actually be if he simply "forgot" to flip it on in order to extend his enjoyment a little?

No, no that was just crazy. Adrenaline junkie or not, Brandon wasn't about to put other lives in jeopardy just for his own amusement. The very idea of it was almost as insane as a giant robot appearing out of nowhere spouting Disney lines only to abruptly collapse into a pile of scrap. Thankfully for everyone present, only the latter actually occurred.

Even more surprising than the robot was the strange scene which had torn the author's gaze from the mechanical man. The medic had crawled over to Harkness seemed to be about molar deep in a kiss. He decided against any spoken commentary making light of the situation. They'd just survived a very dramatic ordeal and the medic's fondness for Eleanor had been readily apparent through most of it. That being said, he hadn't expected her to have the stones to instigate something like that.

Shrugging silently, the archer let them be. While he and Harkness were certainly close in several ways, they weren't an item in the official sense and he'd be damned before he ruined her fun after a day like this. Of course, the same probably couldn't have been said for Cole's resident contact in Starling City. Now there was a guy with jealousy issues but that was neither here nor there. Strolling from the room, Cole left the two women to their fun, not breaking his stride as he planted an arrow in the forehead of the motionless robot. You never could be too careful.

The medic had dropped to he knees in a scene Eleanor had witnessed many a time. The young woman had just survived near death - and not a pleasant one either - so a thousand different emotions would be running through her system. Her eyes finding Cole's tall form as he returns from the generator room, the spy nearly misses the medic's crawl to her.

But she certainly doesn't miss the searing kiss planted on her lips.

Allowing the girl to continue for a moment or two longer, Eleanor returns the kiss just enough to let her know there was no dislike of the act (quite the opposite in fact), but soon draws away, her gloved hands reaching up to smooth away some of the bloodied smudges on the woman's face. A smile is on her lips and her eyes are kind, a face that told Claire she had done absolutely nothing wrong.

Sliding to her feet in a motion that belied her sore muscles, the blonde encourages the other woman to her feet as well, holding her close to keep her from folding; she wouldn't be the first person to lose their sense of balance after the adrenalin wore off.

Nicking her mask and helmet from the floor, Eleanor turns her attention back to her partner and new friend. "Alright, let's get the hell out of here, yeah?"

She tucks back a bit of Claire's hair, smiling again before taking her leave of the damndable room. As soon as she saw the mechanical creature, she sighs and replaces the helmet and mask, clicking them into place and removing her ability to throw facial expressions to either of them; she needed to be ready for whatever else might happen, most likely convicts.

"Cole, you wanna take point this time? Just 'til we get to the barracks."

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

Claire was drawn into the kiss even more as the blonde operative made no move to resist. In fact it seemed that she wasn't the least bit against the idea of the medic kissing her considering she could feel Eleanor's lips pressing back against hers. It took a few seconds for Claire's mind to finally click as to what she was actually doing. She opened her eyes looking at the blonde who she was currently sharing a lip lock with. As Eleanor drew back Claire simply blinked now that she was thinking properly she could only begin to realize what she'd just done.

"I-I..." Claire tried to speak but found that any words she seemed to try to say just failed her fading from her mind before she could properly say them. She felt Eleanor's hands reach up to her face her gloved fingers brushing over her cheeks. The smile and the look in the other woman's eyes was enough to tell Claire that no harm had been done. And it made her happy to know she hadn't already ruined a friendship she'd just begun. "Jesus Claire you just met the woman 30 minutes ago! What the hell were you thinking!?" She thought as her cheeks were tinted red from her previous actions.

As Eleanor got to her feet she followed suit with the blonde operative's assistance. As expected Claire stumbled a bit as she got to her feet but managed to keep her footing with assistance from the other woman. She flashed her a brief smile of gratitude as she managed to stand on her own she finally took a moment to look over herself. The entire front of her uniform was dotted with large blood stains likely from the convict who's arm had exploded.

"That sounds like a great plan..." Claire said tiredly she tensed as she felt Eleanor brush a few strands of her hair back behind her ear and gave the blonde a shy smile in return. As the large metal monstrosity fell down the stairs her hand quickly fell to her holstered sidearm. But upon seeing it's indisposed state she breathed out a sigh of relief as she followed Brandon and Eleanor out of the room. "Please tell me the elevators work now...I don't wanna climb all those ladders and stairs again..." Claire quipped as she stepped past the mechanical being.

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

It was really quite amazing how much more pleasant the hallway leading to the elevator was with lights, air conditioning, and a surplus of fresh air available once more. It would still be right at home with some horrifying set piece from the Resident Evil franchise but at least it wasn't so overtly creepy anymore. Between that and the rapidly draining high of adrenaline in the archer's body, Cole's gait towards the elevator was more of a relaxed lope compared to the energetic rush the group on their way down.

While he didn't respond out loud, Brandon sent a thumb's up signal over his shoulder in Eleanor's direction. Likewise, rather than try to come up with any smart commentary in Claire's direction, the archer simply pushed the elevator call button, causing the stainless steel doors to slide open with a cheerful 'ping'. Entering the elevator and pushing the button to return them to the base proper above, Brandon held the door long enough for the twosome to enter before leaning back against the far wall to let out an extended yawn.

Following behind Brandon with a much relieved air, the spy sweeps in the elevator and props herself on the wall. She is tired, well and truly tired, but there is a buzz in her system that won't go away. Sure, she'd been near death a hundred times before, but that didn't stop her from having the same reaction. She felt hopped up on the simple act of living, though part of her felt a pull to the medic; that woman didn't seem to know what she started.

"Claire, we're going to hit a mess up there, but you and I are going straight to your room, no stops, no conversations. With anyone."

As soon as the elevator halts, and the doors slide open, the blonde takes Claire by the hand and pulls her along through the carnage and still-screaming men. A single convict - collarless, much like their friend from below - had attempted to make a charge at them, wrestling free from harried guards.

Eleanor drew her sidearm smoothly, and shot the man twice in the thigh. He went down with a shout and a thud, which the spy ignored as she continued to hustle the medic past it all, ignoring even the other guards as they called for occasional assistance.

Surviving the Riot - Page 3 Empty Re: Surviving the Riot

Post by Claire Kelly Wed Feb 18, 2015 1:34 am

As the elevator arrived Claire felt as if things were at least a small bit back to normal. If it wasn't for the blood covering the group she might have been able to believe that everything that had happened up until now hadn't occurred. As the elevator doors shut behind them Claire leaned against the back wall and let out a deep breath as it began to ascend. A smile formed on Claire's lips as she hummed the tune of a popular song. Her brief moment of ignorant bliss was broken however as Eleanor spoke up giving her instructions for once they reached the top level.

Claire had almost forgotten that the entire base was probably still in disarray. For a moment she'd allowed herself to believe that once the collars were reactivated everything would go back to relative normality. Needless to say Claire gave herself a nice mental slap in the face for being so naive in that regard. She nodded at Eleanor and pulled her own sidearm from the holster on her belt holding it tightly in her right hand as the elevator neared their destination.

As the elevator arrived there was a brief pause before the doors slid open revealing just as Eleanor had predicted a genuine mess. The fighting was far less intense than it had been before but there was still quite a few skirmishes occurring between some of the more unruly convicts and the newly organized guards. Claire felt Eleanor's hand slip into hers and she quickly took it and in an instant they were off traveling through the chaos that had overtaken the facility.

Up ahead she could see a single convict rushing at them having broken free from the guards who had been attempting to apprehend him. Before she could even raise her own weapon Eleanor had leveled her own at the man and put two rounds in his thigh flooring the convict and quickly stunting his charge. The guards quickly fell upon the man handcuffing him and throwing in a few strikes with their telescopic batons and rifle butts as well for good measure.

There was little time to observe the situation further however as Eleanor continued to pull her along ignoring any and all distractions and avoiding any threats as they headed towards her room.
