DEATH:  Caught unawares during a sudden riot in the VWAT base, Jensen was beaten to death by a horde or murderous prisoners.

Name: Sergeant Jensen 'Sasquatch' Newgate

Age:  31

Gender: Male

Physical appearance:   Jensen is a rather average looking individual.  Standing at a mere six foot one inch, Jensen is no where near the tallest man but neither is he short in any regard.  The only thing remarkable about Jensen are the sleeves(tattoos) on both of his arms, both of which are made up of a conglomeration of different tribal tattoos that merge together to create a network of tattoos that are most find aesthetically pleasing, and two, which is the rather large and muscular frame that is very clearly visible.  Jensen's muscular neck supports an oval shaped head that sports a high and tight haircut that US Marines seem to favor.  His dark brown eyes seem to be set forward on his face that seems to hint that he is more of a predator than a man.  His rather small ears lay close to his head.  Covering a good portion of his lower face is a rather good looking beard that could possibly remind people of Paul Bunyan if Paul Bunyan was former Marine Corps Special Forces Operator.  He also has quite the good portion of hair on his body, barring the spots where the many scars cross his chest, back, and legs.

Supporting his neck is a rather muscular frame of corded muscle and a large bone structure that indicates the the man is a natural fighter.  His chest, stomach, back, legs, face all carry a large number of scars, the worst being disfiguring scars on his back and chest mottling his body hair making him look like a mangey dog..  His long arms, that seem to give him a longer reach, go down to the hammer heads known as his fists.  He weighs around 210lbs.

Usually hiding his dark eyes are a set of all black tactical glasses that have a retention system attached to them so he doesn't lose them if they fall of.

Clothing:  When in combat, Jensen is typically seen wearing a skull balaclava, to obscure his identity, under a MICH helmet with attached NVGs to it(if necessary).  He wears the regular MCCUU(Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform) in black coloring.  Over his blouse he wears a CIRAS modular protective vest(Combat Intergrated Release Armor System).  On his feet he wears his combat boots colored black.
Spoiler:

Attached to the rear of the plate carrier is a Medical Combat pouch with enough medical supplies for a 4 man fireteam and a small bag with one box of 100 rounds of 6.8mm SPC rounds and a magazine loader.  Attacked to a carrier system underneath the ammunition bag are 4 sets of double ziptie handcuffs in case they need to take a prisoner.  A radio is attached above the medical pouch and is attached to a throat microphone to allow quiet and easy communication between him and other N9 members.

When back on base, Jensen keeps his black MCCUU but drops all the bulky combat gears.  Sometimes he wears a black fitted tactical cap.

Weaponry of choice:   Jensen's primary firearm is a modified Heckler & Koch M27 modified to fire a 6.8mm SPC round.  Setup in the typical SOPMOD fashion.  It is equipped with an AN/PEQ-2 Infrared Laser Sight for pointing out targets at night, an EOTech 552.A65 Holographic sight compatible with NVGs for increased accuracy and combat retention, a Tactical grip pod, and a no tools sound suppressor and flash suppressor.  He keeps seven spare magazines in his CIRAS vest and one loaded in the rifle.(28 Rounds per Magazine; 224 Rounds total).  All ammunition used by the modified M27 have a silver/steel alloy core penetrator and are blessed to provide maximum damage to vampires and such while also providing excellent stopping power to armored units, humans, and light barricading materials.
Minus the Trijicon sight:

Jensen's secondary firearm is an M45 handgun in a SERPA Level 2 Tactical holster with Light.  The M45 features a retention wire attaching his handgun to his belt and an flashlight under the slide.  The M45 uses 8 round magazines, one always loaded into the handgun.  There are 2 spare magazines with a red stripe loaded with standard US Military 230 grain Ball FMJ rounds that are bless to deliver damage to armored vampires and humans alike.  There are 2 spare magazines with a blue stripe loaded with 230 grain HydraShok JHP that is blessed to provide outstanding stopping power to unarmored vampires and humans alike.  The Magazine that is loaded into the pistol uses a load alternating between JHP rounds and FMJ rounds.
Spoiler:

Jensen's tertiary weapon of choice is a KA-Bar straight knife kept sheathed on the left shoulder of his CIRAS vest to allow maximum speed of drawing.  The blade was forged using silver dust sprinkled before it was cooled to allow it to be used against vampires then it was blessed to add an extra amount of damage to their undead enemies.
Spoiler:

Jensen's last weapon of choice is a Strider SMF tactical knife kept in one of his pants pockets to allow ease of access in an emergency.  The tactical knife is merely blessed, not containing any silver in it.  The knife has a matte black coloring.
Spoiler:

Race: Human

Abilities:  Jensen has typical human abilities.  Jensen's strength is in peak human condition, able to carry nearly twice his body weight with little hindrance to his movement speed, once ripped the rear hatch off of an APC to allow the personnel trapped inside to escape.

Martial Arts:  Jensen has been trained as a hand to hand fighter since he joined the Marine Corps when he was 17.  He was first taught the LINE combat system when he first enlisted and was above average at it.  When MCMAP replaced LINE combat system, Jensen was required to undergo retraining from LINE to MCMAP.  Thanks to his ten odd years of practicing LINE he picked up on it and eventually achieved a Black Belt in the two since its introduction and is certified to teach it to other people.(Black Belt in LINE and MCMAP)

Do to Jensen's many years as a shooter, he is able to employ many weapons systems that are similar to the Kalashnikov and AR-15 platforms.  He is able to field strip, clean, and reassemble all the parts in working order of weapons falling into these categories.  Anything that doesn't follow the AR-15 or Kalashnikov platforms he will merely be able to operate with varying degrees of success, bull-pups being his worst platform while standard feeds have a varying degree of success.

He can deploy an AR-15 style assault rifle with great accuracy, able to hit a target with up to 100 meters beyond the maximum range of the system as long as the round is capable of reaching that distance.  He can deploy a Kalashnikov style assault rifle up to the maximum range that the rifle allows with reduced accuracy as the distance increases.

His is familiar with 1911 style handguns and is able to use them out to their maximum range with great accuracy.  He maintains a basic understanding of other firearms, able to reload, fire, and clear jams with ease while field stripping and cleaning would require more time than standard 1911 designs.

Jensen's Special Forces training has given him a particular set of skills that work really well on the battlefield.  Jensen is trained in Parachuting.  He has plenty of experience doing HALO jumps(High Altitude Low Opening), HAHO jumps(High Altitude High Opening), and LALO jumps(Low Altitude Low Opening).  Continuing from his Special Forces career, and his Marine Corps Career, Jensen is quite the accomplished swimmer and has earned the Combat Diver badge.  Being a combat diver, he knows how to fight hand-to-hand whilst underwater and avoid detection among other things while submerged.  He also has extensive training and practical knowledge in SERE.  Due to this training, he has extensive skills at land navigation for a majority of the world(barring Southern Africa).  Due to his Tactical Combat Casualty Care(TCCC) training, Jensen is able to treat wounds up to a severe level while on the battlefield(able to be used on himself or someone else).  Because of this training, and his martial arts training, he knows key areas on the body that can slow the blood flow.  When Jensen joined Force Recon, he was taught how to carry out Special Reconnaissance missions.  He is able to conduct of environmental reconnaissance, target acquisition, area assessment, post-strike assessment, emplacement and recovery of sensors, or support of Human Intelligence (HUMINT) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) operations.   When Jensen joined the Marines he was taught Close Quarters Battle while in SoI(School of Infantry).  He is able to clear buildings of any size with a squad of 3 people with quickness, ease, and deadliness.

Because of his time spent in the Middle East, in regular and black operations, Jensen speaks Farsi, Dari, and Arabic fluently though it is clear he isn't a native speaker.  He has a rudimentary understanding of Somali and Malay, understanding both languages if spoke slowly enough.

He can scan a battlefield and find the best sniping spots, enemies weak and strong points, and best attack routes that will result in the fewest casualties.  Jensen always plans an escape plan in his head subconsciously wherever he goes.  He marks defensive positions, extraction points, firing positions, and weapons within reach.

Jensen has a regular driver's license and a motorcycle license.  He is an Above average motorcycle driver and an extraordinary driver of medium sized trucks and SUVs(anything smaller and he feels as if he is dragging his ass on the ground).  He was taught aggressive and defensive driver, how to notice a tail and how to lose one.

Due to his many years as a Special Forces Operator and a member of N9, Jensen has acquired the ability to move stealthily at night, seeming to disappear into the darkness before taking out his intended targets.  Like other N9 members night time is his home.  Night Time is the best time.

Organization:  VWAT

Personality:  Jensen, as a trained Special Operator, has been taught to hide his emotions under a blank face to a quite a bit degree of success, except when he is drunk.  Due to his many years as a soldier, he has become accustomed to the strict and ordered lifestyle and the constant danger.  He finds that he is most comfortable in the chaos of battle than at base and is one to never back down from a fight.  Jensen is a proper adrenaline junky, thinking that life would be boring without it pumping through his system.  Be it from jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at thirty-five thousand feet and opening your parachute a thousand feet from the ground or beating the snot out of someone in an underground fight club.

Jensen can be described as an extreme patriot more than willing to give his life away to protect his country.  That is what drove him to enlist in the military and then special forces over something like college.  Jensen loves a good fight but knows better than to start one.  He prefers to finish it.  Despite his chosen profession Jensen doesn't like killing but he has grown accustomed to it since he joined the Marines.

Jensen is known as a practical joker with quite a sense of humor.  Often cracking jokes at the expense of other people or pulling pranks on members of the N9 Combat and Intelligence teams.  He is a generally friendly person who attempts to befriend everyone he finds to be interesting.  Despite his normally jovial appearance, Jensen always plans an escape plan in his head subconsciously wherever he goes.  He marks defensive positions, extraction points, firing positions, and weapons within reach.

Unlike a lot of the people who are or were members of N9, Jensen was able to resist the majority of the mental training which stopped him from becoming mindless killing machine, mainly do to his year as a 'guest' of the Iranian Intelligence Agency.  Due to this extended stay in Iran, Jensen had developed an severe case of PTSD that he keeps under control and hidden from everyone.

When in combat, Jensen becomes an entirely different person.  He loses the Jovial appearance and becomes a calm, collected, and calculating individual with ways out of almost every scenario.  He can scan a battlefield and find the best sniping spots, enemies weak and strong points, and best attack routes that will result in the fewest casualties.

Rank: N9 Operator

Biography:  Jensen was born in Augusta, Georgia to a carpenter and the average run-of-the-mill housewife in the early 1980's.  Before settling down to build a family, Jensen's father was a US Air Force pilot during the Korean War before he was shot down and held as a POW for fifteen weeks until he was freed by friendly forces.  After getting back from the war, Jensen's fathered married his high school sweetheart and settled down in his home town of Augusta to work for his father as a Carpenter.  The Newgate family tried for years to make a baby and all of them, up to Jensen, died either in the womb or during childbirth.  In 1976, Jensen was born 9 pounds 10 ounces.

As soon as Jensen was born, he father began indoctrinating him into the United States Military and imparting his diehard patriotic ways onto his first born son.  As Jensen grew older he grew to love his country and it's military.  Starting at a young age, Jensen played Peewee football and that grew into an obsession as well.  As he grew older his love for his country and football grew stronger eventually culminating with his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 with his parent's permission.

After leaving for boot camp, Jensen's football career throughout his scholastic life helped him perform admirably in physical training, able to get a perfect score of 300.  This helped get himself noticed for future opportunities within the Marine Corps.  After graduating from Boot Camp, he was assigned to the 15 Marine Expeditionary Unit and stationed in Somalia to help bolster the boots on the ground.  During his time in Somalia he picked up a rudimentary understanding of the language(mostly slang words and greetings).

In 1994, Jensen's unit was reassigned and stationed in Kuwait City to help show America's resolve to maintain peace and security in the area.  Until 2001, Jensen's unit spent their time in Kuwait and Camp Pendleton until their unit was sent to East Timor to help in UN operations within the country.  The unit remained there, with Jensen getting promoted to Lance Corporal during his time spend there.  In 2001, after the World Trade Center attacks, Jensen's unit was shipped to Northern Pakistan where they establish a FOAB before making a 400 mile amphibious assault to what is known as Camp Rhino that had been established by US Special Forces.  During the three month deployment, Jensen spent time with Force Reconnaissance elements and decided that he would be able to do more if he were to do a lateral MOS shift.  After talking with his commander, Jensen was accepted for a Lateral MOS shift and was sent to selection and then training for Force Recon.

After passing the selection with some difficulty, he spent several months training and eventually he graduated and became a Force Recon Marine.  His unit was deployed to Afghanistan to help fight the Taliban along with the rest of the USSOCOM.  In 2003, his unit participated in the invasion of Iraq and then was station in Iraq to participate in Operation Enduring Freedom.  Luckily, Jensen's skill as an operator put his personnel file in with the 500 that formed Detachment 1.  Having been made a part of Det 1, Jensen was back in Afghanistan under the command of the Navy SEALs.  Jensen stayed in this unit until 2006 when it was disbanded and remade into MCSOCOM and MARSOC.  Jensen was placed in MARSOC along with every other member of Det 1.  Jensen was promoted to Staff Sergeant as well and placed in charge of his own element.

MARSOC spent 6 months training the unit in the languages of Afghanistan before they were deployed in 2006.  After 2nd Battalion was ambushed, Jensen, along with the rest of the Elements, began hunting down the Taliban responsible for the ambush.  Eventually they were relieved from their operational charter after a General was informed of excessive civilian casualties that may or may not have been left behind.

His unit spent 2 years performing clandestine operations within Pakistan and Iran until 2009 when they were redeployed into Afghanistan, this time in command of a joint special operations task force.  Jensen remained in Afghanistan until mid 2010 when his team was redeployed to Iran do to their experience there.  After spending nearly 8 months in Iran on the clandestine operation, Jensen, and several CIA contacts working within the country, were taken as prisoners after his MSOR squad was ambushed by a platoon of Iranians.  Jensen and his CIA contacts were held as prisoners for 13 months being tortured weekly.  After the death of the second CIA operative, Jensen knew they would need to escape to stop from dying themselves.  Jensen waited until night when he called the guard to his room telling him he wanted to tell the Iranians everything.  Jensen, assisted by a wounded CIA Operative, was able to locate the Commandant's office where he found intelligence regarding their location, a short-wave radio, and additional intelligence regarding Iranian operations across the Afghan border.  After a few minutes of heavy fighting, Jensen was able to procure a transport for himself and the wounded Operative and escape a majority of the fighting.  Navigating by the night sky, Jensen was able to maneuver the vehicle to a location where he was able to use the shortwave radio to contact American forces on the Afghan border and initiate a rescue operation.  Clandestine Unit codenamed N9 was sent to rescue the two high-value targets.  A brief firefight with Iranian personnel resulted in the severe wounding of one N9 member but the unit was able to evac Jensen and the Operative safely. The intelligence gathered by Jensen resulted in he rescue of several international personnel and the destruction of several black sites by drones.  Officially classified as MIA, Jensen was assigned to the N9 after going through extensive checkups.  Jensen has served with N9 for 3 years admirably before he and several other members of N9 were transferred to VWAT.

RP sample:   Jensen heard the racking cough of the CIA Operative next to him.  He was surprised she had survived this long under the extensive torture they had been through over the past 13 or so months.  Jensen had lost a serious amount of weight, sickly thin, and the Operative fared worse than he had.  She could barely move, he had to feed her himself the past few months.  He knew she would die soon.  Just like the other two operatives had.  Screaming for their mothers as the electricity was pumped through their bodies for the last time.  Shaking his head to interrupt the thought he had to get her and the intel she had back to the US.

"من اطلاعات شما را دارند "(I have the information you need).  The guard opened the door and looked for Jensen but he didn't have time to utter a warning as the sound of his neck being broken was clearly audible in the cell.  Retrieving the guards, Kalashnikov, Jensen looked down at the Operative and thought about leaving her there.  With a grunt, he strained to lift her over his shoulder but he succeeded.  His tired mind was suddenly alive.  Any minute now a guard would come down the hallway and Jensen would attack.  After making sure a round was chambered, Jensen closed the cell door behind him and broke the light above his head, effectively rendering him invisible in the darkness.  Sure enough the guard walked by to inspect the noise and was met by the sound of the Kalashnikov and three 7.62mm rounds entering his chest.  The siren went off and he heard boots on the hallway.  He advanced down the hallway, a woman over his shoulder and struggling to carry the assault rifle.  As soon as he rounded the corner he felt the butt of a metal stock connect with his jaw.  A coppery taste quickly filled his mouth as he felt an intense pain begin to radiate at the spot of contact.  Probably a broken jaw, though Jensen as he hit the floor.  Dazed, he kicked out at the legs of the man and sent him falling on top of him.  This time he felt his leg start to get warm and sticky.  Then the intense pain came.  The man had stabbed him in the leg, almost at his femoral artery.  He grabbed the hand that was on the knife to keep him from being stabbed while wrapping his legs around the mans head in a triangle choke.  He squeezed the mans neck until he felt it pop and the man stopped breathing.  The gunshots had alerted the rest of the guards that there was a break out, a token force than what was there when they were first brought there.  It would be easier than he expected but it would still take a miracle to get out.

It didn't take long to maneuver through the small building and find an exit.  Apparently the guards had been cut down over the past few months leaving a token guard detail on the compound.  Putting the now awake Operative on her feet, he handed her a pistol.  He had found the commandant's office and the commandant was inside the room with a pistol pointed at the door.  He picked up one of the magazines he had stuffed into his waistband and tossed it into the room while shouting GRENADE.  His ploy worked as he breached the room and caught the commandant hiding behind the desk.  One gunshot was all it took to end the Iranian's life before he went through searching the room for intel while he waited for the operative to get the radio to work.  The static of the radio showed that she had it working.  It took a few minutes for the number station to blare through the speakers.  The Operative began speaking the phonetic alphabet into the transmitter and the numbers that followed made the Operative laugh.  Rescue was on the way.  Jensen tossed the map to the operative that had the bases location marked on it.  With coords of the base, the rescue wouldn't take long to get there.  Less than an hour, they would just have to hold out for that long.

This wasn't right though.  He had contacted the rescue while on the Afghan/Iran border not while in the base.  Then he realized it.  It didn't stop the grenade going off hurt any less as he sat upright in his bunk.  It was a dream gone bad not real.  He was still alive whatever that meant.  He looked out of the window, dawn.  He pulled his black utility pants on and then his blouse before looking at his old dog tags and his new ones.  One showed his real name of Jensen the other showed the name Sasquatch.  Grabbing Sasquatch he opened the door and walking into the main room of the safe house.  Africa sucked.

If I get a picture of him, can I have a Discovery Channel special?

Eight magazines is a lot. Maybe drop half or so, since you're carrying even more gear after this.

Hoping PTSD actually comes into play at some point. Makes him a very believable and well-rounded character, so wasting it as nothing would be really disappointing.

Jesus wrote:As soon as Jensen was born, he father began indoctrinating him into the United States Military and imparting his diehard patriotic ways onto his first born son.

Holy shit, this guy gets around.

Nommed wrote:MARSOC spent 6 months training the unit in the languages of Afghanistan before they were deployed in 2006.

How, exactly, did he manage to break out of there? If it was that easy to do it after more than a year of being tortured, why didn't he do it right when he was caught?

Sampling wrote:RP sample:   Jensen heard the racking cough of the CIA Operative next to him.

That answered my question. Sort of. While I know how, I still don't understand why he didn't do this earlier. If the guard is really that incompetent to fall for the equivalent of hiding behind the door, what stopped them from doing this right after they were captured?

Attached to the rear of the plate carrier is a Medical Combat pouch with enough medical supplies for a 4 man fireteam and a small bag with one box of 100 rounds of 6.8mm SPC rounds and a magazine loader. Attacked to a carrier system underneath the ammunition bag are 4 sets of double ziptie handcuffs in case they need to take a prisoner. A radio is attached above the medical pouch and is attached to a throat microphone to allow quiet and easy communication between him and other N9 members.

and added it making it harder to escape the Black Site.
