Jennae's Quarters Empty Jennae's Quarters

Post by Jennae Diadra Sun Nov 03, 2013 2:05 pm

Description: The literal description of "bedroom" taken what would seem far too seriously; it consists of two rooms only. Dark and bleak, the dark-blue walls of the rather expansive room lack any windows or access to the outside world which forces the inhabitant to draw their only source of light from items of electronic nature; such as lamps and the ceiling light. Curiously enough, this was of her own request. Upon entering the room one would come face to face with her large queen-sized bed across the way, made up with dark blue sheets and covering with four large pillows near the headboard; the carpet below matching the bed's color design. Directly next to the bed is a small, black mini-fridge (which she makes double as a small table) containing a variety of drinks, many being alcoholic in nature, and small amounts of microwave food. On the other side sits a small floor-level cabinet that has two doors, primarily used to store things of useless nature to her; on top of which rests her black microwave.

Off to the right side of the room is a second door in the center of the wall which leads into the bathroom, where it holds all the necessary items and utilities. Positioned next to the bathroom door is a large dresser where all of her clothing is held, neatly separated and folded; a large body length mirror hanging on the wall adjacent to it. Across from this dresser on the other side of the room and against the opposite wall is a large bookshelf which contains her collection of old poems, philosophical writing and other old text that she enjoys studying in her downtime. In the center of the room is a black table made of oak and of medium size, reaching up to just about waist level with most people; a small wooden chair placed near it with another casually set in the far corner. The rest of the floor is made up of maple wood.

Jennae's Quarters Empty Re: Jennae's Quarters

Submerged in the utter blackness of her room, Jennae would toss and turn in her bed; muttering and mumbling incoherently about the dark thoughts currently plaguing her subconscious mind. Even in sleep she wasn't allowed to escape her confliction, her inner-demons were persistent as ever. Many of her nightmares varied in description but they all conveyed the same message. She was surrounded by darkness this time, weightless and limp. She felt pressure against her body that gradually began to grow, as if she were sinking into the crushing oblivion of a large ocean's depths, and these surroundings were further depicted as such by the sparkling beauty above her; no doubt light dancing on the waters surface.

The further she sank, the more the light faded from view and the darkness allowed to engulf her form. She could do nothing to resist, however, unable to speak or move; yet breathing never crossed her mind, as if forgotten. She was only allowed to gaze at the fading display with her deep blue eyes until nothing was left. A gripping fear was all that clung to her as she was engulfed, frantically trying with flawed effort to somehow reach the surface. Eventually there was nothing to distinguish up from down, all light swallowed by the darkened depths with herself as it's only inhabitants.

Completely enshrouded with nothing but darkness around her, it took what felt like an eternity before she felt her back impact something solid. A realization had struck her; had she sank to the bottom, sunken so low? Was she going to die? Laying against what she could only guess was sunken rock, she suddenly found herself unable breath now. The shortly forgotten necessity of the action now suddenly rushing back into her mind. Movement restrained by some unseen force and senses dulled by her aquatic surroundings, she frantically tried to hold onto what little breath she held in her lungs.

Struggle as she might, no progress was made; powerless against the crushing black oblivion that would likely become her coffin. Forcing the breath against her body's will to remain inside, two red orbs caught her attention from above. It wasn't the warm, golden light of the sun that she saw before, but two red glows growing larger by the second. Squinting, both out of effort of forcing her lungs to stay full and to see through the gloomy surroundings, she was able to make out an outline of a figure swimming toward her. The closer it got, the easier it became to discern; and it was not someone she knew.

Not a friend nor one of the True Cross, but the details soon became clear as it landed beside her. The realization of what it was made her struggle all the more frantically. A vampire, it's red eyes cutting through the dark like knives, slowly approached from her right side; it's fangs flashing in a crooked grin. The abomination was the very same who had given her the scar that now marred her shoulder, she could see that now, but what frightened her even more was what he was doing. He leaned inward, fangs parted as they slowly moved towards her neck.

Moments before they made contact with her skin, everything vanished in a sudden flash of awakening. Her blue eyes shot open from her dead sleep as she jumped into a sitting position, her right hand removing Deborah from beneath her pillow in a blur of motion in which it was aimed at the emptiness of her room. Her body was covered in a cold sweat, she was out of breath; a look of fright on her features obscured by the darkness. It took a moment for her to realize it was yet another dream, lowering Deborah with an irritated huff; running her free hand through her frosty white hair before resting it over her face.

"God damn it...."

Jennae's Quarters Empty Re: Jennae's Quarters

Solace, once again she was robbed of it. Even in sleep was she denied even a small sliver of peace from her addled and conflicted thoughts. Clad in nothing but her boyshorts and training bra, Jennae slid herself to the edge of the bed and rested her elbows on her knees; her palms coming to rest over her face as she took a deep breath to steady herself. A quick glance from between her fingers confirmed her recent suspicions as her gaze fell on the clock, hung on the opposing wall beside the door.

Recently, the number of hours she'd been allowed to sleep had been getting shorter by a small but noticeable amount, and while waking up in the middle of the sleep by tormenting dreams wasn't anything new to her, it was still somewhat alarming. Her hands were allowed to fall limply toward the floor, dangling between her knees as she stared at the hardwood at her feet. She knew her chances of getting back to sleep were extremely thin, and that all chances of restoring a normal schedule was next to impossible. Was there any point left in trying?

Shaking her head to clear away her grogginess for the moment, she lazily retrieved the half-empty pack of cigarettes from atop the mini-fridge beside her bed, to which she then proceeded to remove one of the coffin nails with her teeth, pull the lighter out of the pack itself, and then ignite the end with a satisfying inhale of nicotine. Truly everything she did had negative effects on her body; as if to outright destroy herself by any means. Unhealthy amounts of sweets, three packs of coffin nails a day, and even heavy drinking, but she really didn't care. It all helped, in it's own way.

Exhaling a rather large cloud of toxic grey smoke into the air, she would sit there in the darkness of her room for the moment; staring blankly at her surroundings as she began procrastinating. She had nothing to do, as most of the targets she was charged with executing only came out at night, and seeing as how it was daylight going by the time on the wall-clock, she had plenty of time to steady herself. What hypocrisy would she be exposed too during her waking hours this time? What lies would try to be spoon fed to her? Out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of her trusted pistol, it's twin sister still hidden beneath her pillows; both still possessing their prized ability to offer a way out should she choose it.

Truth be told, the thought crossed her mind more than once in the past few moments...

"I need a drink," she muttered.

Shaking her head to clear them away, she rose to her feet and made her way toward the bathroom, where she would shower, brush her teeth, dry off, and then make her way toward her dresser to procure a clean set of clothing. Putting them on, she retrieved her cigarettes and a handful of unhealthy sweats, placed them in her pockets, and then headed out to find a place to drown her anguish.

Exit---> The World's End Bar.
