Standing at five feet, ten inches with a noticeably muscular frame, Achilles presents a rather intimidating figure by feminine standards.  Maintaining a healthy diet on top of a rigorous exercise routine, her body fat percentage is kept very low, putting her at roughly 155 pounds of almost solid muscle.  Her skin has a distinct olive tone to it which stands in sharp contrast to her bright blue eyes.  Her hair is black in color and, along with heavy bangs, is worn extremely long in the back, reaching down to her waist where it is loosely tied in a sort of “dolphin’s tail”.  

Her face is rather rounded with the exception of her nose which is just a bit elongated.  Overall, a cursory glance at her body could easily lead one to believe that she make a living as a professional fighter with exceptionally toned arm and abdominal muscles though her bust is slightly on the large side for someone engaging in such regular physical conditioning.  

Since being properly introduced to the modern world, Achilles has gradually begun to expand her wardrobe.  Equally comfortable in jeans or a skirt, the strongest theme amongst her clothing is a darker color scheme with a touch of red.  In terms of comfort, she had expressed a certain draw to sundresses due to their somewhat comparable feel to the clothing of her time.  More often than not, one will find her in some combination of military fatigues presented to her by VWAT.  

On missions, Achilles’ retains her preference for dark colored clothing, including a form-fitting undershirt underneath a black ballistics vest.  Designed to allow for a respectable amount of flexibility, the vest is graded as a Type II meaning that it is effective against small arms fire up to the .357 magnum.  On top of this is a warm yet breathable fleece Polartec military jacket.  Along with this she prefers dark grey cargo pants.  On her feet, Achilles wears black military issue combat boots with black athletic socks.  

Regarding miscellaneous  accessories, Achilles keeps things relatively simple with a pair of black leather SAP gloves along with high impact elbow and knee pads and a small earbud headset to stay in communication with other operatives in the field.  Though not by choice, Achilles wears a small black collar around her neck like the convicted members of VWAT which allows the organization to track her movements and administer debilitating electrical shocks at any given time.  

Perhaps the best way to summarize Achilles would be…”expressive.”  Born and raised in an era of great rhetorical advancement and warrior poets, Achilles tends to speak in a loud, boisterous manner filled with exaggerations and rarely respects the concept of personal space.  Blunt to a fault, Achilles can quickly come across as rude or even a bit oblivious due to her lack of experience in modern dialects.  While she has technically been able to learn the English language since her arrival in modern times, she does not yet grasp more commonplace turns of phrase, taking everything literally.  

In addition to her generally boisterous speaking style, her upbringing instilled an incredible ego and ambition in Achilles (Not to mention a notoriously short temper).  Based on her success on the battlefield as well as the stories surrounding her exploits both in life and in modern times, Achilles fully believes herself to be the greatest warrior alive and considers any opinions to the contrary to be grave insults.  Because of this, she is constantly seeking out new opportunities to demonstrate this fact by imposing arbitrary challenges on herself.  However, while extremely proud, Achilles’ behavior does not descend to that of a braggart.  Rather, her great self-confidence is quietly genuine with an underlying innocence.  With this in mind, she feels great shame at her own ignorance regarding modern custom and technology.  In order to protect her own pride and self-image, she generally dismisses this knowledge as inconsequential or even “beneath her.”  

Though she would never admit it, Achilles has had a particular hard time adjusting to automated forms of transportation, visibly nervous in automobiles and nearly having panic attacks in flying vehicles.  To help cope with this, as well as the general culture shock, Achilles very rarely leaves the base.  Instead, she spends the majority of her time in intense training or educational classes helping her catch up on the massive advancements in technology and history since her passing.  Her pride aside, Achilles has great respect for the other members of VWAT and is very grateful for the efforts they have made to educate her regardless of her ego.  Oddly enough, she has managed to find a bit of comfort in her missions to hunt down the supernatural.  Despite massive advancements in civilization, vampires and other monsters remain just as they were in her time period, making the hunts a comparatively everyday experience.  

Brought to modern times without any of her belongings, the only things that Achilles can be said to own are articles of clothing and weaponry given to her by VWAT.  Due to her lack of experience with fire arms or other modern weaponry, for the time being Achilles has been armed only with modern variations on weaponry present in her time.  Her primary weapon is an anti-personnel, tactical riot spear engineered for law enforcement use.  The blessed double edge spearhead blade measures 7 and 5/8 inches and is forged from high carbon steel tapering to a dynamic point.  The shaft of the weapon is made from a shatterproof composite with a weighted core and molded grips to allow for better handling and even spear throwing.

Trained from childhood in the art of combat, Achilles was relentlessly drilled to live up to the prophecy surrounding her birth to be a peerless combatant.  Though trained with a variety of weapons found within the period, Achilles particularly favored the spear and shield in combat.  Masterfully raising the use of the spear to an art form, Achilles was completely unmatched with the weapon in her entire era, able to easily strike targets even faster than herself with close range thrusts or long range throws.  

Translating her training with the short swords of the time to a more modern weapon in the form of the tomahawk, Achilles has quickly taken a liking to the weapon due to its powerful cutting ability and options for joint manipulation.  Though she prefers the spear to these shorter weapons, Achilles is equally adept at fighting with single or dual tomahawks.  As with her spear, Achilles had honed her ability to hurl the weapon accurately over long distances.

Adhering to the standards of her time, Achilles was also trained in unarmed combat against both armored and unarmored opponents.  Though a forerunner to the modern take on Greco-Roman wrestling, Achilles’ historical style is far more aggressive than the Olympic descendent, having more in common with the combination of striking, joint manipulation, and submission maneuvers of Pankration and Sambo.  

Outside of her finesse based fighting skills, Achilles possesses a monstrous physicality blessed by the gods driving all of her techniques.  Her strength, speed, and endurance have reached the pinnacle of what can be achieved within the limitations of the human body with her reaction time bordering on the supernatural.  However, while these frightening abilities would have surely been enough to make her a legend in Greek myth, they are not what made her Achilles.  

As it was described in the legends surrounding her name, when she was just a baby, Achilles’ mother attempted to make her immortal by dipping her into the river Styx and bestowing a blessing by the Greek pantheon.  However, Achilles’ mother held the baby girl by the heel to dip her into the river, preventing the blessing from affecting it.  Though powerful, the blessing was not entirely successful as it did not impart eternal youth or even full immortality.  Achilles ages just as any other person does and will eventually die from natural causes like anyone else.  Additionally, her body is no more durable than any other well-built person.  Blades and bullets will pierce her flesh, bones will break under extreme impacts, and so on and so forth.

However, that is where the similarities end.  Due to her blessing under the Greek pantheon, Achilles in almost unkillable.  Gashes knit themselves closed, broken bones reset as if nothing happened, and lost body parts reattach themselves within moments.  As the blessing locks her body into an uninjured state, the regeneration process is automatic, mystically drawing any lost material back into the main body regardless of its current state.  All that aside, Achilles’ blessing does not remove her sense of pain (though enduring repeating injuries over the years has given her a monstrous tolerance for it).  The single, glaring weakness behind the blessing is Achilles’ right heel.  Just as the myth says, Achilles has no supernatural protection on her right heel meaning that any attack which severs her Achilles tendon is instantly fatal.

Outside of combat, Achilles maintains a healthy interest in literature.  Her era prized intellectual expansion and education with a particular focus on philosophy and critical thinking.  Taking these lesson to heart and applying them to her own life experience, Achilles is quickly and easily able to read the fighting styles and personalities of other people to determine potential weaknesses while hiding her own.  It was due to this appreciation for education that Achilles was so quickly able to develop a working grasp of the English language.  However, as communication was her single priority at the time, Achilles has yet to grasp much in the way of modern technology or social graces which occasionally makes it difficult for her to properly synchronize with her teammates.  

Born in 1285 B.C. to the king of the Myrmidons and friend of the legendary Heracles, Peleus, Achilles birth carried a great deal of weight behind it.  Prior to her birth, Achilles’ mother had been pursued by both Zeus and Poseidon of the Greek Pantheon.  However, both of them withdrew from their courtship attempts when Prometheus foretold that Achilles’ mother would give birth to a child even greater than Peleus.  When the girl’s parents became aware of this prophecy, they immediately went to great lengths in order to ensure it came to pass.  Making the arduous journey to the infamous River Styx, Achilles’ mother dipped the infant in the mystical waters to bestow a blessing from the Greek Pantheon itself.  Though not impenetrable, the process was by and large a success in making Achilles nigh indestructible as she was thrown into her father’s rigorous training regime.  Holding fast to his own interpretation of the prophecy surrounding Achilles, her father was determined to forge his child into the ultimate warrior (a fact made simpler by the culture's progressive stance on gender at the time).  

Relying upon the supernatural protection given by her mother and the natural talents inherited from her father, Achilles quickly became a truly frightening combatant prepared for war.  Leading her father’s Myrmidon from battle to battle, Achilles gradually developed a legendary reputation as an unstoppable combatant.  By the time that she was 25, her reputation had grown to the point that she was considered the finest warrior among the ancient Greeks.  Because of this, when the Trojan War broke out in 1260 B.C. she was quickly approached by King Odysseus of Ithaca to join the war effort alongside the other forces amassed by King Agamemnon.  However, prior to Odysseus’ arrival, Achilles’ mother predicted that while the war could not be won without Achilles, participating would also spell her death.  To protect her child, Achilles’ mother disguised her as a young boy when Odysseus arrived, an act which would gradually be lost in translation over the years and eventually leading history to mistakenly believe Achilles was a man.  Seeing through the deception, Odysseus devised a trick to reveal Achilles by setting up a display of weaponry before ordering his men to attack the island.  Unable to resist the call of battle, Achilles immediately abandoned her disguise and prepared for combat.  

Motivated by Odysseus with the prospect of furthering her own legend and living up to the high expectations associated with her prophecy, Achilles agreed to join the conflict against the Trojans.  Despite this agreement, Achilles’ stubborn pride and short temper led her to repeatedly clash with Agamemnon throughout the conflict.  At one point, Agamemnon went so far as to try and deny Achilles the spoils of war she earned during battle.  In response, Achilles refused to fight on his behalf and the Greek forces were battered to the point of collapse in the following battle.  Unwilling to allow innocent lives to be lost due to Achilles’ pride, her cousin Patroculus donned her armor and fought in her stead.  Though Patroculus was successful in driving the Trojans back to their walled city, he was eventually cut down by the Trojan Prince Hector.

Hearing of her cousin’s death Achilles once again entered the fray and killed Hector out of revenge before dragging his body behind her chariot in a display of great contempt.  Even with the death of Hector, the Trojan War continued to rage on for years as the Greek forces slowly gained ground against the high-walled city of Troy.  Unfortunately for Achilles, she would not live to see the end of the conflict, finally meeting her end when her heel was pierced by a poison arrow from Hector’s younger brother.  Injured in the one place unprotected by her blessing, Achilles immediately fell dead.  Her body was quickly recovered by Greek forces and given proper funeral rites before her armor was given to King Odysseus as a gift for his great contributions to the war thus far.  

Though her legacy would live on into the modern era as legend, Achilles herself would soon enter the modern world due to the efforts of a mad necromancer.  In an attempt to supply himself with an invincible servant and bodyguard, a necromancer and student of the occult known as Garrett Arcadian invoked a powerful and complex ritual to revive a legendary warrior from the past before placing them under his control.  However, the ritual was interrupted midway through by the arrival of a strike team sent by America’s paranormal response organization, VWAT.  Arcadian was successful in reviving Achilles in the modern era but he was killed before being able to bind her to his will.  

Utterly dumbstruck in the face of these strange surroundings, the woman was quickly incapacitated and brought back to base for interrogation and experimentation.  Kept tightly bound as a prisoner and research subject, the limits of her abilities were tested and through the use of an interpreter, her captors were able to properly explain her position.  Recognizing the potential benefits she presented due to her unique abilities, VWAT presented her with the same offer given to convict operatives.  Attaching an obedience collar around her neck, the organization would allow her relative freedom of movement within the modern world in exchange for her continued cooperation on missions until such time that she was able to buy her freedom.  Left with no true alternatives, Achilles agreed to the terms and began the difficult process of acclimating to the modern world.
