That was unexpected. A couple blasts from above him caused him to lift off the ground and towards the ceiling as the box. Kicking open the faithful maintenance shaft, he flipped to the grungy, debris ridden top to jump from it and grab a pipe on the interior of the shaft. Hurray, more climbing.

Luckily, it hadn't managed to slip down too far by the time he managed to get off. That bullet fragment was still making things difficult, though. The bleeding was mostly under control at this point, though, aside from a little trickle whenever he made a sharp movement. His shirt was still going strong, though, and would probably even be reusable, considering it was already red. The pain was a non-factor at this point, since a burning, pinching feeling was currently taking a backseat to exploding elevators.

Reaching the top, he was happy to find that there were no other doors to get through, just an open space to climb in through and an old man to surprise. He was actually curious about a few things this time around, though. It wasn't normal to ask the guy you were about to toss off a building or kick into a bottomless pit his life's story, but for as much money as he was getting to take care of this guy, he'd be stupid not to at least check in on things. He could use it as an excuse to find some hard candy, too. Imagine everyone's surprise when they find the intruder left because their boss had already choked to death on a butterscotch.

Despite Langley's continued attempts to ensure that the white haired intruder experienced a very abrupt death, the little assassin just wouldn't die. Twitching sharply as that bob of unnaturally light hair appeared in the empty elevator shaft, Benjamin immediately punched the intercom mounted in his desk to signal for assistance immediately. Of course, even with highly paid professionals, reinforcements would take a little while. For the moment, the wealthy business tycoon would have to make due on his own.

"You, I know who sent you! It was that bastard Ingolf, wasn't it!?" With his misshapen face further contorting into a picture of manic rage, the elderly man could do little more than fling his glass ash tray at the interloper. His only other means of defense was mounted out of sight beneath his desk but it was still a bit too early to bring it into play.

He sidestepped the flying bowl of ash, letting it smash against the ground. He just shrugged, not really sure who he was trying to implicate. Whoever hired him remained unknown, but he wasn't too concerned. The stupid floor arrangement had really messed with the ability to make this look like an accident, but there were still some possibilities. "You got any hard candy around here?" He leisurely strolled around the room, looking through stuff to try and find that nameless pot full of vaguely fruit flavored candy all old people seemed to have.

Glaring daggers at the young intruder, Langley gripped the arm rests of his chair until he was white knuckled. This cocky little punk had some nerve to come in here with an attitude like that. However, all of that carefree attitude would amount to nothing soon enough. Atop his desk, a small red light was blinking on Langley's intercom, signalling him that his guards were mobilizing to come to his aid. Chances were they'd utilize one of the company helicopters to reach this floor since the elevator was no longer an option but that would take another ten to fifteen minutes at least. He could manage until then with bluster and his hidden last line of defense.

Right?

Of course he could! Who was he kidding? He was Benjamin freaking Langley! Champion of industry! Master of transportation! The only one to truly comprehend the depths of the vulgarity of those supernatural abominations that Ingolf was no doubt consorting with.

"Listen to me, you little idiot! You employer is working with freaks! Monsters! No one will believe me but they'll see! I'm the only one who pays enough attention to stop him and put those animals in their place!" Eyes twitching wildly, the older man sent a glance to his intercom to reconfirm that help was on the way before continuing on his distracting rant. "You want money? I'll double whatever he's paying you right now!"

He sighed. He didn't care about any of that creepypasta bullshit this old man was spouting. On the plus side, it had kind of confirmed his internal suspicions that this guy was kind of a bad person. Maybe he was trying to internally justify killing another person, but either way, he'd never really cared too much before. Everyone dies eventually. Taking out a lunatic who would probably turn orphans into food if there was money in it wasn't that bad of a crime.

Grabbing a small glass bowl off the shelf, he'd found what he was looking for. Generic candies would do, and so would this paperclip and penciltop eraser, if worst came to worst. "I'll be honest with you. I really don't care about your Illuminati conspiracy theories. I do my job well." He took to unwrapping a piece of a vaguely pink color, holding it by the paper so as not to get some sticky adhesion to his fingers. "There's worse ways to die, all things considered. At least this tastes good."

He advanced towards the old man, candy still in hand. Best case scenario, he'd be able to shove it in his mouth without incident. He'd have a few options to persuade him that would still look realistic to a choking victim, so he wasn't flying blind here. Just had to hope there were no more surprises.

While the assassin fumbled about with his candy, Langley slowly slid his hands from the arm rests of his chair to his knees so that they were hidden from view beneath the desk. From there, he lightly grasped his final line of defense in the form of a double barreled shotgun mounted on a swivel underneath his desk. With the barrels having been sawn off considerably to allow the weapon to fit underneath Langley's work desk, its effective range was far less than the norm. However, with the loss in range came a significant increase in the potential spread of the buckshot currently loaded in it. As the light haired assassin advanced on the businessman, Langley pulled the trigger twice to fire both barrels through the thin, if beautifully stained, plywood board which made up the front of his desk.

Come on, was he really going to do that? Blasting whatever he had stored under there would hurt his story, so it probably wasn't very helpful. He tossed the candy bowl like a discus straight for the businessman's head, hopefully stopping him from pulling whatever trigger he likely had under there. Still, though, he could always give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he just wanted to rub one out one last time before he died.

That'd be kind of stupid, though, so he still took the precaution to leap on top of the desk after the throw in order to avoid whatever he'd be firing through the front of the thing. If he was dazed from the attack before, it'd be a simple matter to push his head back and drop the unwrapped candy down his open gullet.

Struck square in the face by the candy dish, Langely reeled backward and blindly pulled the trigger of the shotgun, only managing to fire in the assassin's general direction while the light haired intruder leaped onto the desk. Flailing wildly, the old man's wheeled chair tumbled out from underneath him and the crashed to his marble floors with a painful cracking sound. Though far past his physical prime, Benjamin was nothing if not a stubborn bastard and bit down violently to prevent any errant candy choking just yet. Dazed and in pain, the old man could do little more than angrily beat his arms at the person currently trying to take his life without provocation.

He sure as hell earned this goddamn paycheck this time. Dropping down on top of Langley, he'd try to place his knees over the old man's arms to keep them pressed against the floor. With his free hand, he'd pinch his nose closed. After that, he'd have no choice but to open his mouth for air, at which point he'd dropped the candy in to finish this job. As he'd be in the process of gasping, it was unlikely he could just swallow it. Even if he did, there was plenty more where it came from scattered around them on the floor.

Pinned beneath the light-haired assassin, Langely cold only sputter and struggle against his attacker for a moment more before his lung capacity ran out and he was forced to take a rapid inhale through his mouth. No sooner had he opened his mouth, a piece of hard candy was dropped into it to quickly become lodged within his airway. Langely's eyes widened as choking sounds slithered from his mouth and he sent a desperate last look to his computer. If he could only have gotten to it for a moment he could have sent off the evidence he'd collected against Ingolf to the rest of the senior members. Alas that was a pipe dream now. His bloodshot eyes watered as the dark spots in the corners of his vision spread to encompass everything. Slipping from consciousness, Benjamin Langely died on his back, dim eyes staring vacantly at the ceiling of his office.

Dirt dead done, he picked himself up off the ground and dusted his clothes. Logically, there was no way for him to leave this office without being seen. The explosion would cover him, leading the assumption he'd died before reaching the office. Even the shotgun could be explained as the death throws of a choking man gripping at whatever he could.

Turning to the computer, he attached the USB cable on his phone to the hard drive, using the stylized HACK button his companion had coded into his phone to send the information her way. They'd erase any traces of his face or identity from their system fairly soon. It might be nice to look into whatever this guy was up to, as well. Lots of rambling on the screen about monsters and some man he'd never heard of before. That was a job for another day, though. Priority now was getting a portal up and running back to the apartment to fix that hole in his back.
