Character's Appearance

Riley is about 5'10 in height and weighs 130 pounds in total weight. She has fair slightly pale skin and is relatively slender in terms of body structure. Having little excess body fat and more lean muscle maintained through regular exercise and a balanced diet. Though her weight has been known to go up to about 140 at times when she deviates away from her diet. She has a scar on her left shin that she received during a mishap during her training at the FBI Academy in Quantico. She also has a scar on her right arm stretching from her elbow to her wrist along that she got from an accident outside of her home involving ice on the walkway from her front door to her driveway. And the last scar she has is one of a strange symbol that has been carved into her palm that she got during an investigation into a group of insane cultists.

Riley has light brown hair that reaches down to the base of her neck, She keeps her hair parted in the front in order to keep it out of her eyes to prevent it from impeding her ability to operate in the field. Her eyes are a light blue color and are a bit wide her face possesses soft features. She has full lips and a nose that is a bit inbetween flat and pointed. Her eyebrows are a bit thin mainly because she tends to trim them and sometimes pick at them out of boredom. At times Riley may wear her hair in a short ponytail for convenience but this is often rare as she hates the feeling of having something on or in her hair like hats or hairties.

While on duty Riley according to FBI dress code wears attire that make her appear as professional as she is expected to behave. Her outfit usually consists of a black pantsuit with black pumps with a white short sleeve button up blouse worn beneath her blazer. The soles of her pumps have been swapped with more durable and comfortable material in order to make it a bit easier for her to run in them. She also wears a brown shoulder holster beneath her jacket designed to carry her Glock 21 standard issue sidearm. She also wears a black belt with a silver buckle to keep her pants held up. On the right side of her belt are nylon pouches designed to carry the standard 13 round magazines used by her Glock 21. She also has a hardened nylon sheath designed to house a telescoping baton. Along with that she has a leather clip on carrier for her cellphone. She also has a holster fastened around her ankle designed to carry a Springfield XD-45 Tactical. On the back of her belt she has two nylon pouches designed to carry magazines for her XD-45 Tactical.

In other situations Riley may change her appearance according to what the situation may call for. In situations where field work in rugged environments is expected Riley will often wear a pair of light blue jeans and black work flats to make movement a bit easier. She will also forgo her blazer and instead wear a white short sleeve button up shirt usually with her shoulder holster still worn over it. Beneath her shirt she wears a black tanktop. If the situation is dangerous she may also wear a bullet proof vest for added protection along with a holster on her belt for her Springfield XD-45 and a sheath for her baton. She also carries a crossdraw holster for a taser on her belt as well along with a nylon loop for carrying a small flashlight.

When she can anticipate a situation that will likely involve combat she wears a black fitted compression shirt with a black bullet proof vest with the letters FBI printed on the back. She also wears a pair of black duty pants and a black patrol cap with black fingerless gloves and combat boots. She still wears her shoulder holster along with a black pistol belt. On her belt she has a crossdraw holster for her taser and a shoulder mounted sheath beneath her left arm for her collapsable baton. At times her field outfit can also feature a FBI raid jacket or it can change to better suit the situation that she is likely to encounter.

Personality Information

Riley is a friendly person a bit on the quiet side but generally friendly in most of her interactions. Riley prefers to avoid confrontation when possible being more the type to try to find a peaceful solution to any argument mainly because she finds that someone who is content or calm is much easier to reason with than someone who is angry or disgruntled. When dealing with people Riley is often soft spoken however she rarely allows herself to be outspoken. If needed she can be firm with her interactions especially if it is required to get information she needs for an investigation. But in general Riley is an all around likeable person in most cases.

While working on a case Riley still maintains her friendly personality and can often be known as a "Good Cop." due to her less confrontational means of collecting information often resorting to persuasion to get what she needs for an investigation. She often relies on her partner to be the more confrontational and upfront person when it comes to information collection from suspects or witnesses. Though if needed she can play the part of a "Bad Cop." although not that well considering it is abnormal behavior for her. Riley also tries to maintain an air of professionalism when she can while working often focusing on getting her job done before all else.

When it comes to fighting Riley is a bit inexperienced mainly because most of her career has been comprised of making arrests with back up on stand by or arrests in which the suspect rarely retaliates against the arrest. Though what Riley lacks in combat experience she makes up for it with survival instinct. Riley is a quick thinker capable of making quick observations of her situation and then making a decision with quick reasoning. This paired with her training received during the FBI academy gives Riley a different kind of perspective on combat. For Riley combat is something to be survived and escaped from rather than fought until the bitter end unless completely necessary. In combat Riley's observation skills also come in handy giving her a clear view of most situations she finds herself in. Giving her a good perception of what is useful in her environment and what she can use to her advantage.

Equipment Information

Glock 21

In a shoulder holster often worn over her clothes Riley carries a Glock 21 semiautomatic. The pistol is chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and is fed from 13 round magazines. The pistol is constructed from high durability lightweight polymers. When loaded the pistol weighs about 2.3 pounds and possesses a 5 pound trigger pull. The barrel of the firearm has a total length of 4.6 inches. The weapon does not have an exposed hammer and instead possesses a concealed striker that allows for a slimmer more streamline profile and a faster draw and fire than a firearm that possesses manual external safeties on the firearm.

Riley's Glock is fitted with a light on the accessory rail to leave her free hand open for other actions instead of having to hold a flashlight during use in dark areas. It can also be fitted with lasers for better accuracy when not aiming down the sights. Riley carries 5 magazines for her Glock 21, Four in nylon pouches on her belt on her right side and one in the firearm itself.

Springfield XD-45 Tactical

Riley's secondary firearm is an XD-45 Springfield a Semiautomatic handgun built similarly to the Glock 21. Like the Glock 21 the XD-45 is chambered for .45 Auto cartridges and it is also fed from 13 round magazines. The frame of the pistol is constructed out of high impact polymers which help it maintain a light weight. The slide is constructed from forged steel and has a melonite finish to protect the barrel and slide. Also like the Glock 21 the XD-45 is striker fired giving it the same slim profile and faster draw and shoot time. The XD-45 also features a two stage trigger preventing accidental misfires in most cases. The pistol has a 5 inch barrel about .4 inches longer than the Glock 21.

Riley carries 3 magazines for the XD-45 on her person at all times two on the back of her belt in nylon pouches and one in the firearm.

X-26 TASER

For more non-lethal approaches Riley carries in a crossdraw holster a X-26 TASER CEW. The TASER has an effective range of about 15 feet and incapacitates its targets using a pair of barbs fired from the TASER into the target that sends electrical shocks through the target effectively scrambling sensory and motor functions thus paralyzing the target. The TASER features a laser sight for easier aiming and can also be used as a stun gun should the target be too close to use the barbs properly. The TASER continues to introduce new shocks to the victim each time the trigger of the weapon is pulled thus allowing the user to keep a target subdued as needed.

ASP Talon Disc Loc Baton

As part of her standard issue kit Riley carries an ASP Talon Disc Loc Baton. The baton is made from high quality aerospace alloy designed to be both strong and light. In total length the baton is about 23 inches when fully extended. Riley's baton has a matte black finish upon the metal that gives off now glare making it suitable for use at night without fear of light reflecting off of it's surface. Riley's baton is often kept either on her belt or in a shoulder holster for quick access in a hardened nylon sheath. The baton also features a release button for easy retraction. The baton itself weighs about 1-2 pounds making it light enough to be used quite deftly. Riley has also carved her name into the grip in order to ensure that if it is lost it is returned to her. Something that has happened once or twice.

Riley's IPhone 5C

Riley carries an Apple Incorporated IPhone 5C smartphone with her. The phone is supplied by the FBI as a work phone but it often finds more use as Riley's personal phone instead considering it's contact book is filled to the brim with the contact information for her family and friends along with a slew of music and random games and apps to keep Riley entertained. Her phone also has an App that allows her to connect to her desktop computer at her home and her office allowing her to access needed case files at her convenience. Though using this app requires Riley to be connected to Wi-Fi. With her phone Riley also carries a pair of IPhone headphones and a wall charger with lightning cable to make up for the crappy battery life of the phone.

Surefire LED Defender Flashlight

Mainly out of preparedness Riley carries around a small flashlight mainly so that she can investigate darkened areas or to get a better look at certain objects. It is made out of high durability aerospace alloy allowing it to sustain heavy punishment for breaking. It is also quite light making it not much of a burden to carry around. The flashlight is powered using two CR123A batteries and also has a scalloped tail cap to allow it to be used defensively if need be by striking an assailant with the pommel of the light. It also features a high power 500 Lumen Light output which can be used to blind assailants if the need arises.

Badge and Credentials

Riley at all times outside of her home carries around her FBI Special Agent Badge and Credentials. For the reason that is has come in handy quite a few times and because it is generally a good idea to have it on her person. She often uses her badge to identify herself to civilians and the credentials to identify herself to law enforcement personnel on official and unofficial business. There have been a few times where Riley has used her credentials to bluff her way out of a speeding ticket or two. Riley's bade is kept in a black leather pocket book. Her Credentials are kept in the same pocket book for easy access.

Wallet

Riley carries a black leather wallet that contains basic odds and ends such as her credit cards, debit cards, extra cash, identification and club membership cards. It also contains a spare key to her car which she has found useful every now and then.

Riley's Lucky Coin

Riley carries a John F. Kennedy Silver Half Dollar in her pocket nearly all the time. She considers the coin lucky after she found it under her desk in her office. Nothing particularly lucky has happened to prove the coin is lucky but Riley likes to think it is anyway. It bears not significant from any other half dollar except that it is slightly worn and a bit dented around the edges. Likely from times where it has been dropped during Riley's attempts to flip it.

Hand Cuffs and Zipties

Riley often carries one pair of Hand Cuffs with her for detaining suspects caught during investigations. In the case of multiple suspects she also carries Zipties which she has found can be fashioned into an equally effective substitute if the need arises.

Riley's Car

Riley owns a 2012 Toyota RAV4 which she often uses to get around both commercially and sometimes while working. The car is a 6 cylinder but has relatively good gas mileage getting 19 miles in the city and 27 miles to the gallon on the highway.

There is not much particularly special about it other than the general clutter that takes up her back seat and parts of her front seat. Her cup holders are often filled with empty Starbucks or Pete's Coffee cups. It is also not rare to see McDonalds or other fast foods bags on the passenger side floor of her car from times she was just too lazy to throw such things away. Riley does have a few things scattered about to personalize it a bit such as a small Japanese wind bell she picked up in a novelty store which she has hung from her rear view mirror along with a Domo-Kun bobblehead that she keeps on the dashboard and a collection of CDs she keeps in the center console.

In the back seat of her car she keeps random items such as notes, garbage, and bags full of random odds and ends. There are times where she is in need of something and somehow she manages to find it amongst the clutter in her back seat.

Riley's House

Riley owns a small house in Brooklyn it possesses all of the basic amenities needed to live comfortably such as heating, gas, electricity and water. It is also where Riley keeps her small collection of pets a parrot named Benny, A black cat named Rebecca, A German Shepherd named Dutch and a turtle named Rock. She also has numerous personal items littered around her home like pictures of family and friends and other odds and ends.

Character Abilities

Marksmanship

Riley first received training with a firearm during her time at the FBI academy in Quantico Virginia. During her time in Quantico she began horribly inexperienced having no real skill. But as time dragged onward her skills slowly began to refine themselves with practice. By the time Riley had graduated from the academy she was among the top 10 in her class in terms of marksmanship. She was originally cleared with the Glock 22 but over time has become cleared to use the Glock 23 as well along with the Glock 21. She has also learned to use multiple other firearms on her own time such as The Benelli M4 Semiautomatic Shotgun, The MP5A4 Submachinegun and a few other firearms which she has bought or gotten to use.

On her own time Riley has learned a bit about the inner mechanics of firearms and is capable of field stripping and properly maintaining firearms that she has handled before or firearms that have similar designs to such weapons. She is also able to identify most firearms by simply looking at the design of the frame or by analyzing signature features and narrowing it down. Riley's skill with firearms allows her to hit distant more harder to hit targets through the use of proper breathing and body positioning. She is also able to hit moving targets through aim compensation and can somewhat effectively fire her weapon while moving

Investigative Skills

Riley's investigative ability has been cultivated over the years into what they are now. Through both field experience and class knowledge Riley has learned to be extremely observant when necessary. She has also learned to look past the surface of things to look for deeper hidden facts while investigating. With these skills Riley has completed numerous investigations and has picked up quite a substantial bit of experience in the field of investigative work. With her experience she has learned to cross reference situations with others and notice specific habits or mannerisms that suspects involved in investigations often have.

Riley's ability to be observant is quite high as she is able to notice small details that may appear out of place in otherwise normal looking scenes. These things could be so small as a window having fingerprints pressed into the paint or a bit of dust having been disturbed where it shouldn't be. She has also learned the fine art of discretion having learned how to discretely eavesdrop on conversations often through appearing as an average bystander in the background or by staying out of sight and staying quiet in order to listen in on important info. Her reasoning and deductive skills are quite refined as well as she can often piece together tidbits of information that are relevant to one another to learn new facts that may open up new avenues of understanding.

Physical Fitness

Riley is in relatively good shape for her height and age, She is easily capable of passing the PFT issued by the FBI Academy. She is capable of running 1.5 miles in about 11 minutes and can complete a 300 meter sprint in about 50 seconds at full speed making her quite quick on her feet. This is mainly so to make up for her lack of endurance. Though Riley is physically fit she isn't exactly the most resilient person. One good punch to the face or stomach could be more than enough to wind her or daze her. She is also quite susceptible to pain as she has never had much of pain tolerance.
