Main Mess Hall

Roy nodded one last still holding up that smile of his. That would make sense, Steeler would want to keep it at as few people as possible to conceal that weakness. Speaking of which, why had she decided to tell him her real identity? Then prove it no less.... It wouldn't be because she trusted him that much? It wasn't because she viewed him as not a threat, well, he knew she intended to stand alone at the top of the hill of champions. But he knew that in the meantime she respected those that she fought with.

It was probably that danged pride...Yes. She wanted to eat the fruits of all her hard works, and let it be known that she the mighty Achilles was standing in front of you, and watch the reaction on peoples faces. Like she had just done now. Which Roy was fine with, she was Achilles she had earned the right to do this, there was no doubt about that. But, he had already warned her, her pride would be her downfall and here she was telling him all about her only weakness! Purely because of that.

Roy knew that unless she had trusted him to some degree she would not have told him, but for the most part he knew that it was just this pride that had caused her to reveal this to him. Curse it all. She needed to be more careful.

Without missing a beat however, Roy maintained his carefree appearance and responded to her after she was done speaking and then comfortably yawning. Which everybody knew was contagious, and thus caused him to yawn as well. He said to her his first few words drawn out by the yawn.

"Well, Megali. I'm off to get that drink. It's been fun though, I know your busy but if you ever want a workout partner, or more importantly a sparring partner I'll be available. Just ask around for me if you can't find me. Oh, and I'll see if we can't go on some missions together, engage in some friendly sport eh?"

Roy chuckled a bit with his last statement as he held out his hand to shake, he wasn't sure if that was something they did in ancient Greece for greetings and goodbyes, but she might as well get used to it in America, everyone would be doing it. Roy didn't say this, but one of the reason besides their obvious competition that he wished to go on a mission with her was to protect her identity.

She really wasn't that good at blending in yet, and if one saw her in battle, they would know something was up given the way she fought, and more importantly the way she couldn't die. If they put two and two together, maybe it was a bit of a stretch but they could figure it out in time. Or at least they would have a guess. That being said, Roy couldn't help but feel a little honored, and a little relieved that she had told him.

Honored because, well he got to fight with friking Achilles, and she had willing told him her real name and all that implied. Relieved because now he was far less worried about her dying, by being bested on the battle field that is; and truth be told, the way she fought, Roy probably would have dived in to try and "save" her from herself. Which for a normal person might well be a problem, but for her he didn't think that it would.

Heck he'd probably do that with someone he had no connection or liking for, even if there was a vampire or some crap right over his head. Roy was thankful he fought alongside, careful, professional, and cooperative soldiers. That didn't just blindly walk into battles against supernatural entities. Man, that would be bad.

Though she gave no spoken reply, Achilles gave a small wave to bid Roy farewell. While she watched him leave, she took a moment to herself to consider how natural these gestures had become. Yes, no, hello, goodbye, and so many more or them had completely different signs in this culture. On one hand, she was happy that such social norms were becoming, for lack of a better term, normal for her. On the other hand, she couldn't quite shake the worry that the more she adapted to this new environment, the more she was turning her back on her own culture and history. Then again, history is exactly what it was. She could not, would not allow herself to simply stew in the past. The setting may have changed but she was as she had always been. That meant that her purpose remained unchanged as well.

Rising to her feet, she made her way out of the mess hall towards her room. While still a far cry from homey, the spartan halls throughout the base were beginning to feel a bit more welcoming now that she had something halfway resembling a companion.

The riots had spread from the cell blocks into the rest of the facility. Food was strewn all across the place, along with some blood and a few organs here and there. One unlucky fellow actually had his head torn clear off his body, now simmering in a pot of chili. Several of the people were jumping tables and smashing things into each other, as well as any of the soldiers who happened to walk through to try and reclaim order. At this point in the night, there was no real order to be found. Only chaos.
